What they are saying: Charone Peake

Wide receiver Charone Peake was drafted by the New York Jets in the Seventh round of the 2016 NFL Draft as the 241st player selected. Peake was the seventh former Clemson athlete to be picked up by the league and the first offensive player Clemson had drafted since punter Bradley Pinion was picked up in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers.

Peake was drafted later than expected, however some analysts now believe that may have had to do with Peake’s prior ACL injury that hindered his 2013 and 2014 seasons. However, the receiver spent his last season with Clemson playing to his full capacity and helped lead the Tigers to the National Championship game. He ended the season with 50 receptions for 716 yards and 5 touchdowns and had a very impressive performance at Clemson’s Pro Day where he ran a 4.4 40-yard dash.
