Atlanta-Pace Academy offensive tackle Andrew Thomas has made up his mind about where he wants to attend college. Now, it’s just about formalities.
Thomas confirmed to The Clemson Insider on Wednesday he will announce his commitment at Nike’s The Opening finals, which take place July 8-10 at the Nike Headquarters in Beaverton, Ore.
It is down to three schools for Thomas — Clemson, Georgia and Notre Dame.
Thomas knows which one he will choose, so he decided this week that he is ready to commit.
“I have my mind made up, and I feel like there is no need to prolong the process,” Thomas said.
Thomas told TCI what stands out to him about each school.
“Clemson is very family oriented,” Thomas said. “Notre Dame has great academics, and Georgia has a need for tackles.”
What has the message from Clemson’s coaching staff been as he nears the end of his recruiting process?
“That Clemson is different from other universities,” Thomas said. “They develop you on and off the field.”
Thomas is a consensus four-star recruit and holds nearly 30 offers.
