Four-star defensive end Jordan Williams visited Clemson over the weekend for the All In Cookout and spent the weekend getting to know more about the Tigers.
“It was a great experience. It was good to get on campus and see all the commits and recruits,” Williams told The Clemson Insider. “I got to spend time with them and enjoy some great food. My mom really liked the food. She said Clemson’s food is the best she had of all the places we have visited.”
Williams got to spend a lot of time with both the recruits and some of the current Tigers.
“I hung around with Chase, Amari, Tee, Justin and Jamyest. I also spent a lot of time with Christian Wilkins and Shaq Smith,” he said.
Who came with Williams on the weekend visit?
“My parents and my nephew,” he said.
Saturday was the focus for Williams and his family to see what Clemson had to offer off the field.
“Saturday we went in-depth with academics with the support staff. I got to meet a lot of the people I would be with other than football,” he said. “I talked a lot about the academics. I know what I will get football wise. I wanted to really hit the academics.”
Williams and his mom got to see Dabo Swinney and his players at the ladies clinic on Saturday.
“We got to go by the ladies clinic. My mom thought it was cool to see all the guys with the ladies and all the laughing,” he said.
In about 10 days Williams will be ready to announce his college destination.
“I am still planning to announce my decision on August 6. It will be at 5 p.m. at my school,” he said.
The season gets underway later this week as his high school team begins practice for the upcoming season.
“We start camp on Thursday. This year will be great. I have a lot of goals,” Williams said. “I won’t have to worry about recruiting. I can focus on the season and building chemistry with my team.”
