In late October 2014, Clemson offered 2018 five-star running back Ricky Slade Jr. from C.D. Hylton High School in Woodbridge, Va.

The Clemson Insider recently caught up with Slade, who said he has enjoyed a summer tour of visits.

One of his summer stops was Clemson.

“My summer has been good,” Slade said. “I’ve been to a lot of places such as Penn State, Florida, UNC, Virginia Tech, Clemson and Tennessee.”

How was the visit to Clemson?

“Clemson is a good school,” Slade said.

Slade named the schools that are standing out to him the most at this time.

“My leaders are Florida, Virginia Tech, Penn State and UNC in no specific order,” Slade said.

Slade is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 2 player in Virginia, the nation’s No. 1 all-purpose back and the nation’s No. 20 player overall.

Through his first two seasons at C.D. Hylton, Slade has rushed for 2,020 yards on 209 carries with 26 touchdowns.
