Four-star linebacker Charles Thomas is set to visit Clemson on Saturday.
Thomas, a top-100 player in the class of 2019 from Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, Ga., said during a recent interview with The Clemson Insider that he plans to visit with a group of 2019 prospects from Georgia.
“I should be there this coming Saturday,” Thomas said. “Not sure on who all is coming, but a group of 2019 players from Georgia.”
Thomas received an offer from Clemson on June 1. He last made a trip to Clemson for the Orange and White spring football game in April.
What is Thomas looking forward to seeing on the upcoming visit?
“I’m really just trying to build a strong relationship with the coaches,” Thomas said.
Thomas, who describes himself as a passionate, competitive and hard-working team player, was recently named the No. 77 player in the 2019 class by 247Sports.
“Being named a top-100 player is an honor,” Thomas said. “It feels good to know that my hard work has not gone unnoticed. I do understand that being ranked is not everything, and that I must continue to be humble and work hard on a daily basis.”
This summer, Thomas also visited Tennessee on Aug. 13 and North Carolina on July 22.
“Both went well,” Thomas said.
The 6-foot, 215-pounder already has offers Clemson, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, Tennessee, Toledo, Tulane and West Virginia, among others.
Right now, Thomas doesn’t have any leaders.
“I like them all,” Thomas said.
As a freshman in 2015, Thomas posted 102 tackles, including 61 solo tackles, and five tackles for loss.
