Riley Simonds, a 2019 offensive lineman from Buford, Ga., visited Clemson on Saturday with Buford teammate and fellow offensive lineman Harry Miller.
The Clemson Insider caught up with Simonds, who said the visit “went really well.”
“We got to see the locker room, weight room, team room, team lounge, inside facilities and Death Valley,” Simonds said.
Simonds said his favorite part was experiencing Death Valley.
“Walking in the stadium and up the hill,” Simonds said.
Simonds had the opportunity to talk to Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney and offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell during the visit.
What was the message from the coaches?
“To keep up your work and grades, and they asked about our season,” Simonds said. “They said you look good and big for so young.”
Simonds (6-4, 280) doesn’t have any early offers, but said he is receiving interest from Georgia and Tennessee.
If Clemson were to offer down the line, Simonds said it “would mean the world” to him.
“It would mean the world to me,” Simonds said, “and it’s something that would be humbling and a dream come true to play college football at the collegiate level.”
This summer, Simonds visited Georgia and Tennessee. He plans to visit Auburn for its season opener against Clemson on Sept. 3.
