Clemson made the cut for five-star cornerback Christian Tutt when he released his top 11 schools via Twitter on Monday.
The Thomson (Ga.) Thomson High School product also included Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Southern Cal, Texas A&M and UCLA on his list.
The Clemson Insider caught up with Tutt, who decided a couple of weeks ago that it was time to narrow down his recruitment.
Tutt said Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney and defensive backs coach Mike Reed helped Clemson make his top 11.
“Both are great men as well as coaches,” Tutt said.
What does Tutt like about Clemson overall?
“Clemson has been a championship team the last few years,” Tutt said, “and it’s a great college town.”
Tutt last visited Clemson for the Tigers’ game against Florida State on Nov. 7, and called it a “great” experience.
Tutt intends to make it back to Clemson this season.
“I’m looking at the Louisville game,” Tutt said. “I’m looking forward to seeing a great atmosphere and game again.”
Now that Tutt has honed in on a top group of schools, he is ready to take the next step in his recruiting process.
“Just being focused on these schools,” Tutt said, “and get out to visit them multiple times.”
Tutt plans to commit on May 30.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder is rated by 247Sports as the No. 5 player in Georgia, the nation’s No. 4 cornerback and the nation’s No. 33 player overall in the class of 2018.
