Clemson offer would be ‘huge relief’ for Tennessee receiver

Alcoa (Tenn.) 2018 wide receiver Tykee Kellogg enjoyed his time at Clemson on Saturday as an unofficial visitor for the game against Troy.

“It was great,” Kellogg said during a recent interview with The Clemson Insider. “I loved it.”

What did he think of Clemson’s 30-24 win?

“It was a pretty good game,” Kellogg said. “Wished I would’ve seen better from them, though.”

The highlight of the visit for Kellogg was the postgame experience.

“After the game in the locker room,” he said.

While on campus, Kellogg had the opportunity to speak with Clemson wide receivers coach Jeff Scott and defensive tackles coach Dan Brooks.

“(They told me) it was great to see me,” Kellogg said, “and that they want me to come back.”

Kellogg currently has offers from Louisville, Memphis, Texas-San Antonio and Austin Peay. Tennessee and South Carolina have shown interest.

Kellogg is hopeful for a Clemson offer down the line.

“It would bring me a huge relief,” he said, “because that’s one of my choices where I would love to go.”

Kellogg has upcoming visits planned to Louisville this weekend and Tennessee the following weekend.

Through four games this season, the 6-foot-6, 195-pounder has 16 receptions for 363 yards and seven touchdowns.
