There is this perception out there that former South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier and Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney did not like each other … probably from all the jabs the two used to take at each other when the Tigers and Gamecocks played every year.

But like in so many cases, perception is not reality. The two coaches are actually good friends, evident in this video of Swinney playing back a voicemail the Head Ball Coach left on his voicemail following the Tigers’ 45-21 loss at Georgia to open up the 2014 football season.

Spurrier was calling his friend to offer encouragement in only the way Spurrier can do it.
