Many recruits and commits were in attendance for third-ranked Clemson’s wild 24-17 overtime victory over N.C. State on Saturday.
The Clemson Insider reached out to some of those prospects, and others, for their reactions to the game. Check out what they had to say:
Chase Brice, QB – Loganville, Ga. (Grayson) – commit:
“It was absolutely nerve-racking. I’m not gonna lie, I was pretty nervous but I never lost faith! I was hoping we’d block the field goal, but him missing it was even better! Clemson made that game a little harder on themselves than it needed to be, but at the end of the day they got the win and that’s all that matters.”
Matt Bockhorst, OL – Cincinnati, Ohio (St. Xavier) – commit:
“I mean it was obviously pretty ugly. Lots of fatal mistakes, but apparently God is a Clemson Tiger and they were able to pull it out. Having next week off should be beneficial in finding their rhythm.”
T.K. Chimedza, DT – Bradenton, Fla. (IMG Academy):
“It was a great game. Came down to the end.”
Tyus Fields, CB – Cornelius, N.C. (Hough):
“I thought it was another exciting game to watch.”
Jeremiah Gray, S – Charlotte, N.C. (Ardrey Kell):
“I really enjoyed it. The environment was intriguing. I thought both teams played really hard, but I thought Clemson responded well to adversity.”
Brian Hightower, WR – Bradenton, Fla. (IMG Academy):
“Great win. I love games like that.”
Keiondre Jones, OL – Hogansville, Ga. (Callaway):
“It was a great win. It showed a lot of heart. I think the only reason it was so close is Clemson was beating Clemson.”
Michael Robertson, WR – Hogansville, Ga. (Callaway):
“It was a good win. They played hard.”
Amari Rodgers, WR – Knoxville, Tenn. (Knoxville Catholic) – commit:
“They never lost faith for one second, and that’s why they won. Great win!”
A.J. Terrell, CB – Atlanta (Westlake) – commit:
“Clemson fought to the end. We gave up the ball a lot on good drives and it helped N.C. State out. I’m glad the kicker missed the game-winner. But we won in OT, ending the game with an INT from ‘No Fly Zone’.”
Charles Thomas, LB – Fairburn, Ga. (Langston Hughes):
“It was an awesome game. I was extremely impressed with what I saw.”
Kenyatta Watson, S – Loganville, Ga. (Grayson):
“They kept fighting, never quit! Awesome to see.”
Jordan Williams, DE – Virginia Beach, Va. (Cox) – commit:
“It was definitely an exciting game to be at. They played great. Defense held up strong.”
Justus Woods, RB – Charlotte, N.C. (Charlotte Christian)
“I thought that it was an amazing game. Clemson played tough football and found a way to win, which is what I expected from a great program like Clemson. I also thought that the atmosphere was crazy. It was probably one of the loudest college games I have been to. I loved every minute of it!”
