Just a freshman, Carrollton (Ga.) outside linebacker Kevin Swint collected his first scholarship offer, from Memphis, last week. It’s easy to see why he earned the offer, and it’s only the beginning for him.

Swint possesses intriguing size and ability. The 2020 prospect, who already stands at 6-foot-3, 200 pounds, has a nose for the football and is good in coverage. Swint played a significant role in his team’s success this season, averaging 4.5 tackles per game. He also had a pick-six in his first ever varsity game.

Memphis offered on Nov. 29, and Georgia is showing substantial interest.

“I think it went well for my first varsity year,” Swint said of his season during an interview with The Clemson Insider. “Our team also went 11-2, but we have a lot to improve on. Team success led me to my first offer.”

Swint visited Clemson for the Tigers’ game against N.C. State on Oct. 15.

“It was a great college to be at,” Swint said. “I love the stadium. Everyone treated me like I have been there for years, and I can tell it’s all about family there.”

“The atmosphere on game day is electric,” he added.

Swint said it would be “great” to hear more from Clemson in the future.

“It would mean a lot to me because first off I’m a defensive guy,” Swint said. “And I think their defense leads them to the point they’re at now with the program.”

Swint could be close to adding his second offer soon.

“Georgia has very high interest in me,” Swint said. “They were like we have something for you in the spring.”

He feels he has the tools to succeed at the next level.

“I can bring some ole fashion stop-the-run type play,” Swint said, “and I love to rush the passer.”

Swint went to Auburn, Georgia and Samford this season, as well.

He is glad to see some reward for his work on the field, starting with the offer from Memphis that won’t be his last.

“It felt like the hard work and dedication that I have been putting in to this wonderful game,” Swint said, “is paying off.”
