On heels of title, Clemson primed for major official visit weekend

Clemson recruits in the current cycle, like those in past ones, have heard Clemson make promises during their recruitment and make the pitch that the program would continue competing for championships if they joined it.

This weekend, evidence that Clemson is delivering on those promises will be on display, and most of the program’s 2017 commitments will be on campus to witness it firsthand.

On the heels of its national championship victory over Alabama and in concurrence with its parade celebrating the accomplishment, Clemson will welcome nine of the 2017 commits this weekend for the school’s major official visit weekend.

Per usual, Clemson’s targeted official visit weekend coincides with the beginning of the contact period prior to signing day, which kicks off today following a month-long dead period, and all of Clemson’s committed non-early enrollees are expected to be on campus starting Friday.

Hosting official visits this weekend each year with signing day right around the corner allows Clemson to help ensure its commits are solid and dismiss any chance that those commits are considering other schools. Fortunately for the Tigers, all of its commits appear to be firm in their stance and intent to sign with Clemson on signing day on Feb. 1.

This weekend, one of Clemson’s most highly rated group of commits in recent memory will get another chance to bond with their future coaches and teammates as Clemson rolls out the red carpet for them.

And this year, as the victory celebration ensues on campus, the future Tigers will see tangible proof that Clemson has risen to an elite level as a program, and that Clemson is coming through on the promises of championships it makes to recruits.

Clemson’s 2017 class currently ranks 13th in the country according to 247Sports and 15th according to Rivals.com despite being comprised of just 13 pledges. Here is a rundown of the commits slated to be at Clemson this weekend:
