The Tigers will begin Week 2 today against Western Carolina with first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m. at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

TCI Hitter-of-the Week              #28 Seth Beer

The sophomore first baseman from Suwanee, GA went 3-for-7 (.429) in three games last weekend. Beer had a double, two homers, four RBI, four runs, six walks, a HBP, and had a .714 on-base percentage with a 1.429 slugging percentage.

TCI Pitcher-of-the-Week            #36 Pat Krall

The senior from Dowington, PA shined in his start on Saturday. In a team-high 6.0 innings, Krall allowed a single unearned run on two hits (.111 OBA) with three walks and six strikeouts to earn his first win of the season.

Weekend Notes:

Clemson, ranked as high as #12 In the country, dropped two of three games to Wright State this weekend at Doug Kingsmore Stadium to open the 2017 season. The Tigers were outscored 17-12 while being outhit .260 (26 hits) to .240 (23 hits). On the weekend, Clemson had two doubles, three homers, 19 walks, and two HBPs against 22 strikeouts while going 2-5 on stolen bases. The Tiger pitching staff finished the weekend with a 4.33 ERA, allowing 17 runs (13 earned) in 27.0 innings with eight walks against 35 strikeouts. Clemson fielded at a .962 clip, committing four errors in 105 chances.
