Clemson got on the scoreboard first against Vanderbilt in Game 6 of the Clemson Regional at Doug Kingsmore Stadium, plating a run on one hit in the top of the first inning.
Vanderbilt starting pitcher Drake Fellows retired the first two batters he faced before hitting Seth Beer with a pitch. After Beer advanced to second base on a wild pitch, Chase Pinder hit a two-strike double down the third-base line to drive in Beer for the early lead.
It was Pinder’s third hit — second extra-base hit — and first RBI of the regional.
