Tigers trim deficit to one run against Spartans

After Seth Beer hit a solo home run in the fourth inning, Clemson scored another run in the fifth, cutting its deficit against UNC Greensboro to 3-2 in Game 5 of the Clemson Regional at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

Kyle Wilkie led off the inning with a single down the left-field line before Jordan Greene reached on an error by Spartans shortstop Tripp Shelton. Wilkie advanced to third on Logan Davidson’s deep fly ball to center field, then came home courtesy of a sacrifice fly to left field by Reed Rohlman.

Rohlman’s RBI marked his first of the regional and 34th of the season.
