Atlanta (Ga.) Carver four-star safety Quindarious Monday made his anticipated trip to Tiger Town on Saturday.

It marked the first game-day visit to Clemson for Monday, an Auburn commitment.

“It was good,” Monday told The Clemson Insider. “The coaches showed me a lot of love. They interacted with me well.”

Monday (6-3, 180) had originally planned to visit Auburn for its game against Georgia but elected to attend the Tigers’ game against Florida State in Death Valley instead.

“It was live out there,” Monday said of the atmosphere. “I saw a lot of tailgating, a lot of fans. A lot of fans knew who I was, too. … They keep up with their recruiting. That’s how you know they love football.”

Monday spent considerable time with Clemson safeties coach Mickey Conn, cornerbacks coach Mike Reed and head coach Dabo Swinney while on campus.

What did he hear from the staff?

“I’ve got a home at Clemson,” Monday said. “They still want me and I fit right in with the defense.”

Clemson offered Monday over the summer before attracting him to campus for a day during the Dabo Swinney Camp in June. He was on the verge of committing to the Tigers before a visit to Auburn in July resulted in Monday pulling the trigger on his commitment to the SEC’s Tigers.

Monday reiterated that he remains committed to Auburn, but admitted the Clemson visit is giving him plenty to think about.

“It made me think,” he said. “But I’m still 100 percent committed to Auburn. I’m still going through the process.”

What is Monday mulling over?

“Just thinking about how I fit in down there,” he said. “They say I fit right in at safety. They don’t really have true safeties, so I see where they’re lacking at.”

Monday’s only other visit this season thus far occurred at Auburn for its game against LSU last month. He is slated to return to Auburn for the Iron Bowl matchup with Alabama next weekend. Georgia hopes to get him on campus this Saturday, though Monday said he wasn’t sure whether he would make the trip.

Pending qualification for early enrollment, Monday plans to take official visits after the season and sign in December.

He is ranked by ESPN as the No. 8 safety and No. 109 overall prospect in the 2018 class.
