Savannah (Ga.) Islands linebacker Kalen DeLoach is starting to draw interest from major programs.

The class of 2019 prospect was invited to visit Clemson for The Citadel game last weekend and came away impressed.

“It was a great visit,” DeLoach told TCI. “The stadium was loud, fans are loyal and the coaches showed lots of love.”

DeLoach (6-1, 205) really enjoyed experiencing the atmosphere in Death Valley. Another highlight of his visit, he said, was watching Clemson tight end and fellow Savannah native Milan Richard.

“Seeing Milan Richard play because we were born and raised in the same city,” DeLoach said. “And the fans, they were into the game all four quarters, and they were loud and kept the players hype the whole game.”

DeLoach spoke with Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables and defensive line coach Todd Bates.

What was their message?

“They will be losing four linebackers, and that if I continue to work hard and get good grades I could make an impact on the team,” DeLoach said. “And they both told me that they will be coming to visit me and building a bigger relationship with me and my family.”

DeLoach received his first Power Five offer from South Carolina in September. Along with the Tigers and Gamecocks, he is getting interest from Florida State, N.C. State and North Carolina. He has visited South Carolina and N.C. State this season, as well.
