Clemson 7, South Carolina 0

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Third-ranked Clemson used a combination of defense and special teams to take an early 7-0 lead against No. 24 South Carolina at Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday night.

Two plays after a 43-yard punt by Will Spiers was downed by Isaiah Simmons at the Gamecocks’ 1-yard line, South Carolina quarterback Jake Bentley telegraphed a pass that was intercepted by Ryan Carter and returned 12 yards for a touchdown at the 6:50 mark of the first quarter.

With Carter’s pick-six, Clemson has now scored a non-offensive touchdown in every road game this season.
