Elite Peach State ATH sets another Clemson visit

Roswell (Ga.) Blessed Trinity four-star athlete Steele Chambers played an integral role in his team’s success this season, which concluded with the school’s first-ever state championship.

Blessed Trinity defeated Marist (Atlanta) 16-7 on Saturday to capture the Georgia Class 4A state title. Chambers helped close out the win, running for a late touchdown that gave his team a 14-0 lead with 9:22 left in the game.

“It felt great,” Chamber said of winning the state title in an interview with TCI. “After losing in the (Georgia) Dome my freshman year it was nice to finally get the big win.”

Chambers (6-2, 215) is a highly regarded prospect in the class of 2019. Clemson extended an offer to him in late October, joining programs such as Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State and Stanford on his offer sheet.

Clemson views him as a linebacker, while other schools are recruiting him as a running back.

As a junior this year, Chambers excelled at both positions and earned player of the year honors in his region.

“I feel really good,” Chambers said of his season. “Got all-region player of the year, rushed for 1,350 yards on 190 carries, had 1,600 all-purpose yards and 27 touchdowns, and 55 tackles on defense.”

Chambers made a couple of visits to Clemson this season for the Auburn and Florida State games.

The Tigers have stayed in touch with him since, and he is set to visit Clemson again in January.

“I am keeping in close contact with Clemson coaches,” Chambers said, “and have a scheduled visit planned in mid-January for me and my parents to talk more with the coaches.”

Chambers reiterated that Clemson remains among his top college choices. After attending the Tigers’ victory over the Seminoles in November, Chambers told TCI that Clemson was “definitely” one of his top five schools.

Chambers’ parents are high on Clemson, as well, and will get to see a different side of things next month.

“My parents have been to games but have not seen the academic side,” Chambers said. “They really like it. And like coach Dabo.”

Chambers is ranked by ESPN as a top-250 prospect in his class regardless of position.
