Clemson’s Gabe DeVoe had a game to remember against Georgia Tech on Saturday afternoon in Littlejohn Coliseum.
The senior guard scored a game-high 25 points on Senior Day to pace the 15th-ranked Tigers to a 75-67 win over the Yellow Jackets.
DeVoe poured in points early and often, starting with a 3-pointer on Clemson’s first possession of the contest.
“It was Senior (Day). I had a lot of family out here and wanted to have a good game,” DeVoe said. “First play of the game, coach drew it up for me, and I was able to knock it in and just get it going offensively.”
It was a bounce-back effort for DeVoe, who went a combined 2-for-14 from 3-point range in Clemson’s last two games.
DeVoe hit on 4-of-7 of his 3-point attempts against Georgia Tech and went 7-of-13 from the field.
“Even after the struggles, first play of the game, coach had confidence,” DeVoe said. “The first play was for me, and he believes in me and my teammates believe in me, so I’m going to continue to play with confidence, not let those two games bother my confidence.”
