Thomas’ inside presence helps Tigers get past BC

NEW YORK — Elijah Thomas helped lead Clemson to a 90-82 victory over Boston College Thursday by scoring eight points and snagging 12 boards for the Tigers.

His defense limited BC’s Nik Popovic, who scored 15 on NC State on Wednesday, to just 9 points.

With the win, Clemson is headed to the ACC Tournament semifinals for the first time since the 2010-2011 season.

No. 4 seed Clemson will face No. 1 seed Virginia at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Friday at 7 p.m.

Thomas spoke to The Clemson Insider about the victory as well as Clemson’s next opponent, Virginia, after the game.
