The latest US LBM Coaches Poll was released Sunday following Week 4 of the college football season.
As expected, Clemson (2-2, 0-2 ACC) dropped out of the coaches poll following Saturday’s 31-24, overtime loss to Florida State at Death Valley.
The Tigers were ranked No. 23 in the coaches poll entering the FSU game.
Clemson is among the teams outside of the coaches poll top 25 receiving votes, with the Tigers getting 35 votes.
Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik threw for 283 yards and the Tigers ran for 146 more, but their upset bid fell short when the Seminoles scored on the second play of overtime and held Clemson on the ensuing possession to seal the win.
Clemson piled up 429 yards of offense and held Florida State to 311 total yards. Defensively, the Tigers limited the Seminoles to just 22 yards rushing on 20 carries, forced four three-and-outs and registered five tackles for a loss, including two sacks.
After completing its three-game homestand, Clemson will finish September on the road when the Tigers face Syracuse this Saturday. Kickoff for that contest in Syracuse, N.Y., is scheduled for noon on ABC.
