First Death Valley Experience Makes ‘Big Impression’ on CB Target

One of the many Clemson targets that the football program played host to for last Saturday’s marquee matchup vs. Florida State was this standout defensive back from the Peach State.

Milton (Ga.) High School cornerback Dylan Lewis was among the large contingent of talented prospects who traveled to Death Valley and took in the Tigers’ game against the Seminoles.

The sought-after class of 2025 recruit came away very impressed after what was his first gameday visit to Tiger Town.

“It was a great visit,” Lewis told The Clemson Insider. “A lot of interactions from different coaches, and the energy in Death Valley was unmatched.”

Lewis, who lists two dozen total scholarship offers, including one from Clemson, spent the most time Saturday with cornerbacks coach Mike Reed and safeties coach Mickey Conn.

“They were giving me positive feedback,” Lewis said of what he heard from Reed and Conn, “and asking me what is it gonna take to get me in that orange and white.”

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound junior made the trip to campus with his mother and father, both of whom had a great experience during the visit as well.

“They had an amazing time,” Lewis said.

Lewis earned an offer from Clemson in early June, and his lengthy list of power conference offers also includes Arizona State, Missouri, Virginia Tech, Mississippi State, NC State, West Virginia, Kentucky, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Georgia Tech, Duke, Wisconsin, Indiana and Maryland.

As for where Clemson stands at this stage of his recruitment coming out of Saturday’s visit, Lewis said, “Clemson is one of my top schools and they keep making a big impact on my recruitment.”

“This was my first time experiencing Death Valley and it definitely made a big impression on me,” he added.

Lewis said he might make it back to Clemson for another visit sometime in November.
