The New Orleans Saints have a former Tiger making noise on the defensive line early. Bryan Bresee was selected with the No .29 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft, the fourth defensive tackle taken this year.
Bresee immediately earned significant snaps for the Saints, and he delivered his best against against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Coming into the game, he has just three tackles but he more than doubled that in Week 4.
This was his most effective performance, totaling four tackles, three for loss and a sack. Bresee was one of the few bright soots for New Orleans in the 26-9 loss, and their staff knows he was the right pick in the first round.
Early in the second quarter, Tampa Bay tried to force a run up the middle and Bresee made them pay for it, something he did multiple times in the game and during his Tigers career. He discarded the attempt to block him and stuffed Rachaad White for a loss.

Bresee had 15 tackles for loss in his Clemson career, so itâs no surprise to see him doing the same in the NFL. The underrated part of his game came in the pass rush.
Known for his disruption, he doesnât always get home, but quarterbacks feel his presence. That said, Baker Mayfield got the full experience of Bresee tossing him to the ground.

Itâs still very early in Breseeâs career, but heâs quickly adjusted to the NFL life. He was the No. 1 overall recruit when he arrived as a Tiger, and Bresee continues to live up to that hype at the next level.
