Clemson commit re-opens recruitment

The Clemson Tigers lost a commitment for the 2024 baseball class Wednesday. Indian Land (S.C.) shortstop Isaac Peña made his pledge to Monte Lee and the Tiger staff back in Dcember 2020.

Almost three years later, Peña is decommitting from Clemson. He announced the decision on X, formerly known as Twitter.

I want to thank Clemson University for giving me the opportunity to play ACC baseball. After talks with my family, I have decided to re-open my recruiting process,” Peña said in his statement.

The 17-year-old right handed hitter will now be on the open market. Peña did not clarify on if Clemson is out of the running, but the Tigers don’t look to be his home as he graduates this academic year.
