Former Clemson Athletic Director and current Miami Athletic Director Dan Radakovich joined Mark Packer on ACC PM on the ACC Network.
Packer asked Radakovich where things stand with the new scheduling plan for the ACC after adding Stanford, California and SMU.
“Michael Strickland is doing another great job of pulling together the scheduling,” said Radakovich. “We are going to have an AD meeting in mid October the 19th and 20th. So hopefully we will have something to look at and react to and very shortly thereafter we might be able to pull something out so everybody can see it.
Two years ago at the ACC Spring Meetings in Amelia Island the league decided to move away from divisions and came up with a new scheduling model. Now they must start over with a new model after expansion.
“Square one. It really is square one. So some principles that were pulled together when the President’s were looking to bring Cal, Stanford and SMU in you know the number of trips the original members were going to make out there has to be one of the parameters as Michael pulls the schedule together. But I think looking ahead there are certain games that television wants, there are certain games that universities want and our fans want and we are going to keep those. And then we will build from there,” said Radakovich.
