A former Clemson defensive back showed out on Sunday while accomplishing a first for himself in the league.
Arizona Cardinals safety K’Von Wallace nabbed his first career NFL interception in his team’s home game against the Cincinnati Bengals at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.
His pick came off of Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow on third down toward the end of the third quarter.
And that wasn’t the only big play that the former Tiger made in Sunday’s game.
Wallace also stuffed Bengals running back Joe Mixon for no gain on fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line late in the first half, with the Cardinals leading by four points at the time.
Overall, Wallace totaled 10 tackles (seven solo), a tackle for loss, the interception and a pass defended against the Bengals. He’s clearly making an impact for the Cardinals’ defense and rewarding the team for claiming him off waivers on Aug. 30, just one day after he was cut by the Philadelphia Eagles.
The 5-foot-11, 205-pounder was taken by the Eagles in the fourth round (127th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft following his four-year Clemson career during which he recorded 178 career tackles (5.5 for loss), 21 pass breakups, five interceptions, two sacks and two forced fumbles over 59 games (36 starts).
