Draft Analyst Pegs Clemson DL as Top 10 Senior Bowl Prospect

This week, a longtime NFL Draft analyst gave his list of the draft prospects who are making the biggest case to get a coveted all-star game invite.

With the halfway mark of the college football season approaching, NFL.com’s Chad Reuter ranked the top 20 prospects for the Senior Bowl, which is considered the premier all-star game in the NFL circuit.

Clemson fifth-year defensive tackle Ruke Orhorhoro cracked the top 10 of Reuter’s ranking, coming in at No. 6:

Clemson’s deep defensive line rotation limits Orhorhoro’s opportunities to fill the stat sheet (11 tackles, 2.5 for loss, and two sacks in six games), but his presence is felt by offensive lines on a consistent basis. He lines up all over the front, using his quickness off the snap to get into the backfield. He holds his ground well against blocks considering his height and somewhat lean frame. Orhorhoro consistently won gaps but could not quite get to the ball to make the big play in the Tigers’ season-opening loss to Duke. He made life difficult for quarterbacks when Florida State and Syracuse gave him room inside in matchups last month. He will be a nice fit in a one-gap NFL system where he can get upfield quickly to disrupt the action.

The 6-foot-4, 290-pound Orhorhoro entered this season with 75 tackles (17.5 for loss), 7.0 sacks, eight pass breakups and two fumble recoveries over 41 games (18 starts) from 2019-22.

Fellow Clemson defensive tackle Tyler Davis was named by Reuter as one of 30 other Senior Bowl prospects to watch outside of those who made his top 20.

The 2024 Senior Bowl is set for Feb. 3, 2024, at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, Ala. The game will kick off at 1 p.m. ET and be televised on NFL Network.
