ESPN Analyst Loves Clemson DL, Sees Him as Draft Sleeper

This NFL Draft analyst is a big fan of one Clemson defensive lineman in particular.

Jordan Reid, who joined ESPN two years ago as a college football and NFL Draft analyst, is very high on Tigers fifth-year defensive tackle Ruke Orhorhoro.

“Ruke Orhorhoro, he’s been outstanding. He’s one of my sleepers overall in the conference,” Reid said this week during an appearance on ACC Network’s ACC PM show. “The defensive line there, they play really good ball collectively as a whole. But he’s my favorite one of the group.”

Orhorhoro has started all six games for Clemson this season, recording 11 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, a pass breakup and two quarterback pressures.

“I love the interior presence that he brings,” said Reid, a former three-year starting quarterback at North Carolina Central University who went on to coach at his alma mater from 2014-18. “He’s versatile as a run defender. He can kick out and he can play defensive end as well.”

Reid believes the 6-foot-4, 290-pound Orhorhoro, an All-ACC selection by Phil Steele each of the last two seasons, could hear his name called among the top 50 picks in next year’s NFL Draft.

“I think he’s one player that NFL teams are really going to love a lot,” Reid said. “It wouldn’t surprise me if he ends up going somewhere inside the top 50, just because of the experience that he has and then the strength that he plays with. He has an NFL ready-made body right away, too.”

Orhorhoro entered this season having racked up 75 tackles (17.5 for loss), 7.0 sacks, eight pass breakups and two fumble recoveries across 41 games (18 starts) in his career as a Tiger from 2019-22.
