One Tiger Sets Jags Record; Two Others Move Up Franchise Record Books

One former Clemson Tiger set a Jacksonville Jaguars franchise record on Sunday, while two other former Clemson stars moved up the Jags’ record books.

Veteran offensive lineman Tyler Shatley played in his 129th straight game on Sunday — a 37-20 victory for the Jaguars over the Indianapolis Colts in Jacksonville.

Shatley’s streak of consecutive games played broke the franchise record that was previously held by long-snapper Joe Zelenka, who played in 128 straight games from 2001-08.

Now in his 10th NFL season, the 32-year-old Shatley made his 47th career start on Sunday and has played in every game since one against the New York Jets on Nov. 8, 2015.

Meanwhile, former Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence moved up the Jaguars’ all-time passing yards list on Sunday, when he went 20-of-30 passing for 181 yards and threw for two touchdowns.

With those 181 passing yards, Lawrence surpassed QB Byron Leftwich (9,042 yards) and now ranks fourth in franchise history in career passing yards with 9,193 yards.

As for Travis Etienne, the former Clemson running back ran for two scores on Sunday. That gives him 10 rushing touchdowns in his young career, and he is now tied for the eighth most rushing touchdowns in franchise history.
