CLEMSON — Each week the media who cover the Clemson Tigers get the opportunity to hear from head coach Dabo Swinney and a few select players.
Here are the best quotes from this past week as the Tigers prepare to face Miami this Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla.
Miami head coach Mario Cristobal addresses quarterback Tyler Van Dyke’s injury:
“Did he get banged up in the game yeah he got banged up but he is tough, he wants to win and he is ready to roll.”
Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney on what Clemson will face against Miami:
“This is a very good football team we are getting ready to play, they are 4-2 like we are…loaded all across the board on both sides of the ball…this is a team that can beat anybody in the country just like we are…we got to go down and play well to give ourselves a chance to win this game.”
Cristobal said Clemson is a championship-caliber team:
“Clemson is obviously a good football team, stacked with talent, very well coached, a championship-caliber program for a while now and we are looking for the opportunity coming up on Saturday.”
Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik said he is “excited” to head back down to Miami:
“I’m excited to get back there, it’s definitely a cool stadium and a good atmosphere. I’m excited to go back there and come away with a win.”
Clemson safety Khalil Barnes on Van Dyke’s abilities:
“He is good, going to be one of the best ones we’ve seen so far just the way he has so many weapons around him, you can’t just focus on one receiver.”
Swinney said Miami Xavier Restrepo’s is someone they “force the ball to.”
“He’s a player…he is the guy that it seems to be they want to force the ball to…he is an excellent slot he is savvy you can tell he has played a lot of football…he is an impressive player, he is a handful and we have to do a good job at knowing where he is and winning that matchup.”
Clemson safety Khalil Barnes on the challenges Clemson could face against Miami:
“It’s a big challenge… we are at this point in the season where every game already mattered but we are in the deep part, we have to stick to it coming off the bye week…night game there will probably be rowdy, we are up for it.”
