BREAKING: Bad News for Miami

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Miami will be without its top offensive player when it hosts Clemson tonight at Hard Rock Stadium.

The Clemson Insider has confirmed that starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke is out for tonight’s game.

Van Dyke injured his lower right leg late in the Hurricanes’ loss to No. 10 North Carolina last week. It was reported by the Miami Herald earlier in the week that he was walking around campus with a leg wrap up to his knee.

ESPN reported Saturday morning that Van Dyke would be a game-time decision.

If Van Dyke does not play, then true freshman Emory Williams will likely get the start for Miami. Williams has played in three games this season, all against non-Power 5 opponents. He has thrown 15 passes.

Van Dyke is currently ranked second in the ACC in passing yards per game, averaging 286.8 yards. He has completed 70.5 percent of his passes for 1,721 yards with 16 touchdowns to go along with six interceptions.
