College GameDay Analysts Make Picks for Clemson vs. Miami

ESPN’s College GameDay crew has made their picks for tonight’s game between Clemson (4-2, 2-2 ACC) and Miami (4-2, 0-2).

Kickoff at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla., is set for 8 p.m. on ACC Network. The Tigers are a three-point favorite.

Here are who the GameDay analysts picked to win, as well as the selection from the celebrity guest picker, former Ohio State and current Houston Texans rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud:

Desmond Howard: Clemson

“My question with Miami is can you protect the ball? Miami has turned the ball over at an alarming rate right now. I don’t have a lot of confidence in Cade Klubnik, but I do have confidence that Clemson will beat Miami because Miami, they just don’t value the ball enough.”

Pat McAfee: Clemson

“To your point about turnovers, (Tyler) Van Dyke has five interceptions over the last two losses against Georgia Tech and North Carolina. I think that’s going to continue with this Clemson defense that’s going to do their thing. Clemson favored in Miami for a reason. I like the Tigers.”

Lee Corso: Clemson

“(Clemson has won four in a row), make it five in a row.”

Kirk Herbstreit: Clemson

“I’m going to go with Clemson, too. I think it has everything to do with Clemson’s defense. Remember, Tigers coming off a bye. This is a team that the last four years, they have beaten Miami by an average of 37 points per game last four times they’ve matched up. So, I’m going with that defense from Clemson to get it done on the road.”

C.J. Stroud: Miami

“I’m going with Miami, man. I like Van Dyke. I think as a quarterback, once you get those early jitters out… I know he’s coming back from some tough games, but that’s when you become that great quarterback that everybody’s looking for, and I think (Mario) Cristobal is going to put some things in his plate that he can handle better. So, I’m going to go with Miami.”
