After Clemson’s first four drives resulted in a pair of punts and two lost fumbles, the Tigers found the end zone on their fifth possession of Saturday night’s game at Miami thanks to an impressive throw and catch.
Tight end Jake Briningstool made a great grab in the end zone, hauling in a pinpoint 32-yard pass from quarterback Cade Klubnik for a touchdown that tied the game at 7 with 8:09 left in the second quarter.
Briningstool’s touchdown reception, which came on third-and-12, capped a seven-play, 90-yard drive that spanned 3:06.
Briningstool also had an 8-yard catch to begin the drive and had three catches for 57 yards overall in the game at the time of his touchdown, which marked the junior’s second of the season and seventh of his career.
