Clemson Lands Big Commitment from Top-75 National Recruit

Brad Brownell and the Clemson basketball program have picked up a big commitment.

Compass Prep (Chandler, Ariz.) four-star point guard Del Jones announced his verbal pledge to the Tigers on Monday afternoon.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder is a top-75 national prospect in the 2024 class per ESPN, which considers him the No. 66 overall prospect in the country.

Jones chose Clemson over his other finalists in Arizona State, Oregon, Tennessee and West Virginia.

The Tigers extended an offer to Jones back in March, and he traveled to campus for an official visit during the weekend of the Sept. 23 football game vs. Florida State.

A native of Arlington, Va., Jones averaged 10.4 points, 4.2 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game while playing for Team Durant in Nike’s EYBL during the summer.

Jones fills a need for the Tigers with what he brings to the table in terms of scoring, speed and toughness. He’s not afraid to take and make big shots in big moments, and he can really dribble and get to a spot to create for himself or others on the court.

Jones becomes the third member of Clemson’s 2024 recruiting class, joining Little Rock (Ark.) Parkview four-star forward Dallas Thomas and La Porte (Ind.) La Lumiere guard Ace Buckner.
