CLEMSON — Each week the media who cover the Clemson Tigers gets to hear from head coach Dabo Swinney and a few select players. The media also takes a look at what the opponent has to say about the upcoming game.
This week’s top quotes include Swinney and his players along with NC State head coach Dave Doeren and couple of his players.
NC State wide receiver Anthony Smith said Wolfpack isn’t treating Clemson any different:
“We’re not treating (the game) like they are some big-time school that is going to come in here and try to wash us up. We believe that we’re going to go out there and do them boys bad.”
Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney on the upcoming matchup with NC State:
“This is a good football team, similar to us I think they are better than their record. Not much has changed when you watch NC State, they’re tough, they’re physical, they’re aggressive, they’re well coached. A typical NC State team that’s aggressive and going to challenge you in all three phases in the game.”
NC State head coach Dave Doeren said he is “excited” for the Saturday matchup:
“Obviously, when you play Clemson, they have a very talented team and this one is no different, very well coached and they have tremendous players. We’re excited for what’s coming up next and look forward to the opportunity to play against this team.”
Clemson wide receiver Beaux Collins on the loss two years ago in Raleigh:
“We definitely have to get them back. The last time we went up there we left with a sour taste in our mouth. It was a tough loss, going up there and losing in double overtime. We beat Clemson really, we played out of ourselves and made a lot of simple mistakes. This time going up there, I feel like if we have the right edge. We will come out on top for sure.”
Clemson wide receiver Adam Randall on winning the turnover margin:
“I just think we’ve got to keep showing up consistently every single day and sticking to it, doing the things that we continue to do and just work on our turnovers. If we can win the margin in these last five games, we will go 5-0. I promise y’all that.”
NC State cornerback Shyheim Battle on the turnover battle against Clemson:
“Turnovers definitely can happen. We want the ball as a defense. We want to go get the ball and celebrate on the sideline. With us knowing that it is going to be a big turnover battle and that is going to be the difference in the game. We want to get the ball and get it back to our offense so we can score.”
