College GameDay Analysts Make Picks for Clemson vs. NC State

ESPN’s College GameDay crew has made their picks for today’s game between Clemson (4-3, 2-3 ACC) and NC State (4-3, 1-2).

Kickoff at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, N.C., is set for 2 p.m. on The CW Network. The Tigers are a 9.5-point favorite.

Here’s who the GameDay analysts picked to win, as well as the GameDay celebrity guest picker, former Utah and longtime Carolina Panthers star receiver Steve Smith Sr:

Desmond Howard: NC State

“I’m not sure about Clemson, man. Still trying to figure out who this team is. I’m going with the Wolfpack coming off a bye, too. So I’m going NC State.”

Pat McAfee: Clemson

“Dabo’s looking for the CW (Network). I think we all are. But give me Clemson getting a massive win over Coach (Lee) Corso’s NC State superdog (pick).”

Kirk Herbstreit: Clemson

“How about the end of the Clemson game last week. They’re in overtime against Miami, they don’t get it done. Media asked Dabo Swinney about it. He said hey, Cade (Klubnik) should’ve handed it off. He was very blunt in public about that. Anxious to see how Clemson comes back this week. I think they’ll come together, I think they’ll play well. I think they get the win.”

Steve Smith Sr.: Clemson

“Clemson has been struggling. They’re not the Clemson we’ve loved over the years. But NC State, unfortunately, they’re waiting for basketball to start.”
