RALEIGH, N.C. — Clemson’s offense suffered a big blow in the second quarter on Saturday.
Running back Will Shipley was banged up and left the game after catching a swing pass and racing it 10 yards to the NC State one-yard line.
There is no official word on what the injury is, but it was a ugly hit that had the All-ACC running back on the ground for several minutes being checked out by trainers.
Shipley walked off the field on his own and to the training tent before living the playing field and going to the Clemson locker room.
Update: According to The CW sideline reporter Treavor Scales, he was told by Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney at halftime that Shipley will not return, but Swinney hadn’t heard much as far as the specifics of the injury.
