CLEMSON – The Clemson Tigers return to Death Valley for their first home game in nearly a month, and Dabo Swinney’s team will be dealing with a heavy list of injuries against Notre Dame.
Garrett Riley’s offense is shorthanded as it’s been in 2023 by a long shot. Starting offensive linemen Marcus Tate is out Clemson released the availability report. Collin Sadler is dealing with an ankle issue, but he’s expected to play while The Clemson Insider reported that Swinney will give much more detail on Tate’s injury after Saturday’s game. Running back Will Shipley is out after the concussion he suffered against the Wolfpack.
Wide receiver Tyler Brown is active for the Tigers, though he’s dealing with a myriad of issues. He suffered an eye injury against NC State, and we’ve reported there’s a lingering shoulder and lower leg issue for the freshman breakout.
Quarterback Cade Klubnik is active, but he’s dealing with a lower leg issue in a brisk Death Valley. He was wearing a boot earlier in the week to class, and stayed limited in practice all week.
For Wes Goodwin’s side, defensive end Justin Mascoll and cornerback Sheridan Jones are out while Jaedyn Lukus is active, coming off a day-to-day designation. Safeties Jalyn Phillips and Sherrod Covil Jr. are also out. The list continues to pile up for a battered Clemson team, with six starters out on top of the previous issues.
The Tigers have dealt with a constant injury bug this season, but it may have reached its peak versus the Fighting Irish. Clemson-Notre Dame kicks off at noon, televised on ABC.
