During Friday’s episode of ACC PM on ACC Network, co-host Mark Packer gave his pick for Saturday’s game between Clemson and No. 15 Notre Dame at Death Valley.
Packer is picking the Fighting Irish (7-2) to come away with a close road win over the Tigers (4-4).
“The Tigers, as we’ve discussed, turnover problems. They’ve been giving away a bunch of points, get inside the red zone,” Packer said. “The one thing that jumps out at me – the Tigers are 125th in red zone scoring percentage. Notre Dame’s defense is No. 2 in red zone. That is a bad mismatch. I think Notre Dame’s offensive line is going to just try to control the thing. I’ve been wrong about Clemson all season long. I’ll take Notre Dame to win a close one in the Valley tomorrow.”
Notre Dame is a three-point favorite entering Saturday’s game, which is set to kick off at noon on ABC.
Clemson leads the series against Notre Dame, 4-3. The Tigers are looking to get back on track after losing two straight games to fall to 4-4 for the first time since 2010.
