Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney met with the media Tuesday and had a number of injury updates, including one on a redshirt freshman offensive lineman.
Swinney said this past Sunday that left tackle Collin Sadler (ankle) was “close” to playing offensively in Saturday’s win over Notre Dame, though he only appeared in the game on the field goal unit.
On Tuesday, Swinney provided the latest on Sadler’s status at this point in the week ahead of Saturday’s game against Georgia Tech.
“He was back yesterday. Again, Mondays aren’t too taxing as you kind of get back going and you’re kind of moving around a little bit after coming off of a game and things like that,” Swinney said.
“But certainly him not having to play helped where he is right now. He did play field goal, but him not having to go and compete every snap, that’s I think pushed him a little further along. So, hopefully he’ll do well today and tomorrow.”
A former four-star prospect from Greenville, Sadler has played in nine games this season and started three games.
The 6-foot-6, 310-pounder started the NC State game on Oct. 28 but got banged up on the last drive of that game and did not return.
