CLEMSON – The Clemson Tigers are making a strong push for a N.C. standout, and the Notre Dame weekend was a huge step towards adding another commitment to the 2025 class.

Four-star defensive lineman Isaiah Campbell was one of the first to receive an offer in his class, earning the call from Dabo Swinney June 1. Now five months later, he made the trip to Death Valley and got to experience a Clemson gameday.

Campbell spoke to The Clemson Insider about his visit, and how the Tigers “check all the boxes” when he’s on campus.

“I love Clemson, man. Over the weekend, I talked to Coach Swinney, talked to Coach Eason. I was just amazed. I talked to the defensive coordinator I was just amazed. I just really loved it man down there… I just feel like Clemson hits all of them boxes and they’re really up there for me,” Campbell said.

During the visit, Campbell said the discussion and philosophy of Swinney is representative of the “great program” the Tigers have. While the transfer portal is a hot topic, Clemson continues to stick to high school players as their main source of talent and that means a lot to him.

“He’s not just going to the portal and taking kids out, he actually believes in the kids and developing kids. Just getting them to be better men in the same route. So honestly, man, that’s why I really like Clemson overall, because they’re just checking a whole lot of boxes for me, and my development process,” Campbell said.

The relationship with defensive tackles coach Nick Eason is paramount for Campbell. As we saw in fall camp, Eason doesn’t hesitate to go through all the details when coaching his players.

Campbell connected with Eason, and believes that being coached by the man with 17 years of NFL experience would be crucial for his development.

“Just learning little things from Coach Eason, because he’s a technician. He knows a lot about football, especially the line. So honestly, that’s what one of the big things for me was development wise,” Campbell said. “Scheming and apply me in different ways where I could show my athleticism and my strengths you know, and turn turn my weaknesses into my strengths… while also being the best person I can be man, that’s all really I can ask for.”

Clemson made a great impression on Campbell, and he also said that the atmosphere in Death Valley “blew his socks off” and was one of the best visits he’s ever had. As his recruitment continues. Campbell tells TCI that the spring is the timetable for his commitment, and the Tigers sit as one of his top schools.
