CLEMSON – The Clemson Tigers and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets meet on a gloomy day in Death Valley, and Dabo Swinney’s squad is welcoming back key pieces on both sides of the ball.
After just a one-week absence, running back Will Shipley is back in the lineup for Clemson’s offense. He was in concussion protocol, but he’s cleared and ready to pair with the red-hot Phil Mafah against a struggling Yellow Jackets defense.
Wide receiver Brannon Spector didn’t dress, and he’s out, making an extremely short-handed room for Tyler Grisham. On the other side of the ball, defensive end Justin Mascoll is set to play. The only defender out is cornerback Sheridan Jones.
It wasn’t expected, but safety and defensive captain Jalyn Phillips is listed as available for the Tigers. He was dealing with a shoulder injury, so it’ll be key to see how much he plays given that he may not be 100%.
Clemson has dealt with a plethora of injuries in 2023, but this is the healthiest the Tigers have been in recent memory. Clemson-Georgia Tech kicks off at noon, televised on ABC.
