Klubnik, Clemson Offense Turn Things Up

CLEMSON – Things were chilly at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, but not for the Clemson offense. Hot off their Notre Dame victory, the Tigers offense was on fire most of the afternoon, especially quarterback Cade Klubnik, as the Tigers rolled to a 42-21 victory.

Klubnik threw four touchdown passes while completing 23-of-35 passes for 205 yards. It’s the third time this season that he has thrown at least three touchdowns in a game and his four touchdowns on Saturday tied his career best.

With 11:45 remaining in the first half Klubnik threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Beaux Collins tying the game at 7. Later, he hooked up with Tyler Brown and tight end Jake Briningstool for 3-yard and 5-yard touchdown receptions, respectively. Klunik’s final touchdown pass of the game was received by freshman Josh Sapp at 13 yards.

The 6-foot-2 sophomore showcased his running abilities by rushing a total of 20 yards for the Tigers, including a 17-yard run.

Clemson will return for its final home game of the season against North Carolina next Saturday at 3:30 pm.
