CLEMSON — With the win over Georgia Tech last Saturday, Clemson improved its record to 6-4 on the season and gained bowl eligibility for a 25th consecutive season.
Wide receiver Beaux Collins spoke with the media earlier this week about his connection with quarterback Cade Klubnik, finishing for the seniors and more. The Tigers host No. 22 North Carolina Saturday at Memorial Stadium in the last home game of the season
–The connection between Collins and Klubnik seems to grow stronger each week, especially in the translation from practice to game time. “We definitely had a good connection, the passes I got in the game were the exact same passes I got in practice, just finding the zone and being on the same page was key for us last week for sure.”
–Collins was asked about finally having the “Wide Receiver U” recognition again and said, “It’s been amazing, honestly, I didn’t feel like we went anywhere really, we were just taking a little break, but I feel like we’re back now for sure. I have no doubt we are going to uphold that standard.”
–Clemson has won its last two games and is now eligible for a bowl game. After a rough start to the season, Collins said it’s all about ending on a good note for the seniors. “If we win out it will be special for our seniors to go out on that note so that’s been our main focus everybody digging in deep putting our heads down and going to work.”
–One of the senior wide receivers working to finish strong is Hamp Greene. Collins described Greene as the “backbone” of the group and said, “he comes in with the biggest smile on his face. I’ve never seen him have a bad day really, he’s just a ball of energy. We’re going to miss a guy like that.”
