The latest AP Top 25 Poll was released Sunday following Week 12 of the college football season.
Clemson (7-4, 4-4 ACC) remains unranked and hasn’t been ranked in the AP Poll since the one released on Sept. 5, when the Tigers were 0-1 and ranked No. 25 following the season-opening, 28-7 loss at Duke on Sept. 4.
However, the Tigers are back among the teams outside the top 25 receiving votes in the AP Poll, now getting 20 votes.
Clemson has earned a pair of victories over ranked teams in the past three weeks, beating Notre Dame on Nov. 4 before defeating North Carolina (then No. 22 in the AP Poll) on Saturday.
Will Shipley recorded 179 yards from scrimmage and Clemson’s defense harassed North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye all day as the Tigers upended the Tar Heels, 31-20, at Memorial Stadium on Senior Day.
Clemson registered four sacks, five tackles for a loss, two forced fumbles, 10 pass breakups and held North Carolina to a 4-of-14 mark on third downs and 2-of-5 on fourth down attempts. Offensively, the Tigers tallied 466 yards on 89 plays, their second straight game totaling more than 400 yards including 200 both rushing and passing. Clemson’s offensive line helped pave the way for 247 rushing yards and did not allow a sack.
Clemson will renew its rivalry with South Carolina this week when the teams meet for the 120th time in series history on Saturday. Kickoff in Columbia is slated for 7:30 p.m. on SEC Network.
