Swinney’s Shares His Favorite Memories from Williams-Brice Stadium

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney has had plenty of great memories coaching the Tigers at Williams-Brice Stadium for the past 20 years.  Saturday night he will hope to add more when the Tigers battle South Carolina.

Following practice Wednesday coach Swinney was asked about his favorite memories from William-Brice Stadium.

“I got a bunch of good memories down there.  Obviously my first trip there the 63-17.  That was a pretty good memory.  I remember first and 35.  I think it was Charlie Whitehurst.  I think it was 2007.  That was crazy.  I remember Buchholz making that kick.  I remember the fourth and 4 when we hit Aaron Kelley on the slant.  That was a pretty cool moment.  And then James Davis ripping one off.  Bucholz making the kick.  So we have had a lot of good ones.”

Earlier this week Swinney reflected on the 63-17 win.

“Never in my life did I think I would still be at Clemson in 2023, twenty years later,” Swinney said on his call-in show earlier this week. “But here we are and it has been a blessing. It has been an amazing journey to be a part of a lot of great games,” said Swinney.
