Clemson starter confirms status for bowl game

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Clemson won’t have to worry about the anchor of their offensive line in their bowl game after the win over South Carolina.

This is graduate senior Will Putnam’s fifth year as a Tiger, and it’s a storied career for the Tampa, Fla. native that made his 49th start Saturday night. He’s also one of six players to play in over 3,000 career snaps from scrimmage in program history.

Following the victory, Putnam was asked about his future in both football and life. Putnam clarified his plans as Clemson enters bowl season, and gave a full clarification that he’ll suit up one last time as a Tiger.

“We still have a bowl game and I’m going to be playing in that. I think really, this downtime for me is going to be a lot of decisions having to be made about what does my future look like playing football? What am I going to do? Where am I going to go? I’m definitely playing, I can’t wait for that, to play in our bowl game but I’m going to have a lot of decisions  be made. But these next couple days, I’m just going to kind of relax and unplug a little bit and get ready to finish this thing strong.”
