Great news for Clemson as it relates to the upcoming bowl game.
The Clemson Insider has learned that Xavier Thomas has decided to play for the Tigers in the bowl.
A sixth-year veteran and explosive edge rusher, Thomas has tallied 20 tackles (three for loss), two sacks and a pass breakup across 10 games this season.
The 6-foot-2, 245-pounder entered this season credited with 116 career tackles (30.0 for loss), 14.5 sacks, five pass breakups, five forced fumbles and a fumble recovery over 49 games (19 starts) from 2018-22.
Thomas, a former five-star prospect, received near-unanimous Freshman All-American acclaim in 2018 and has since earned multiple all-conference selections.
