A longtime NFL Draft analyst weighed in on one Clemson draft prospect ahead of his participation in an upcoming all-star game.
NFL Media’s Chad Reuter, who has covered the draft since 2000, recently stacked up his top 20 Senior Bowl prospects with five months remaining before the 2024 NFL Draft.
Reuter ranked Clemson defensive tackle Ruke Orhorhoro, who has accepted his Senior Bowl invite, at No. 16 on the list.
A fifth-year veteran, Orhorhoro has started all 12 games this season for Clemson, tallying 25 tackles, eight tackles for loss, five sacks and a pass breakup.
“Despite playing in a deep tackle rotation for the Tigers, Orhorhoro has produced eight tackles for loss with five sacks in 12 games,” Reuter wrote. “His quickness and leverage as an interior pass rusher will help him excel as a 3-technique on Sundays. Orhorhoro has an athletic build, but he’s still capable of staying square against run plays. His quickness and strength would allow him to kick outside to 5-technique if a team is looking for scheme versatility in its defensive linemen.”
The 6-foot-4, 290-pound Orhorhoro entered this season with 75 tackles (17.5 for loss), 7.0 sacks, eight pass breakups and two fumble recoveries over 41 games (18 starts) from 2019-22.
Fellow Clemson defensive tackle Tyler Davis has accepted his Senior Bowl invite as well, and Reuter named Davis among the next-best 30 players after his top 20 Senior Bowl prospects.
The Senior Bowl will be played on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the University of South Alabama’s Hancock Whitney Stadium. It will be televised on NFL Network.
The 2024 NFL Draft is scheduled to be held in Detroit from April 25–27.
